No Man's Land
Stranded on your beach, I am forever out of reach of reality This world called off the search, and has given up the hope of ever finding me How could there be any harm, if I lay forever in the arms of your desert dunes? Lose myself in all my pasts, while the whispering wind plays hopeful tunes I swam its ice cold rivers, went digging in its dirt I tried to find out just what the hell I'm worth Looked for answers under stones, for words written in its sand But I didn't find a thing as I walked through no man's land I dropped my sword and shield, walked past the burning fields and spilled my tears This road holds no secrets anymore, I've been coming here for years I swam its ice cold rivers, went digging in its dirt I tried to find out just what the hell I'm worth Looked for answers under stones, for words written in its sand But I didn't find a thing as I walked through no man's land Rain falls down on leaking roofs, evidence that never proves anything In this land as cold as ice, under darkened skies I am king
